You may notice some of the pages on the Wholesalers Network website looking a little different over the coming few weeks as we transition from the old design to the new website design. We’re giving the wholesale directory a long overdue overhaul. Let us know what you think of the new design in the comments below.
One of the main reasons for the new design is that the old one wasn’t very mobile, gadget or tablet friendly. We’ve been around for a long time now and when we first started we all used the internet on our desktop computers or notebooks/laptops. The main concern for website designers was how the website was seen from each website browser. Today a website has to be able to be much more flexible as we now browse the web on our cell phones and iPads as much as we do on our computers.
WordPress Content Management System
So we have decided to use WordPress content management system (CMS) which powers about forty percent of all websites online in 2021. That 40% number is even more impressive when you just count websites using a content management system and WordPress then has a 64 percent market share.
To give you an idea of just how popular WordPress is the second most popular Content Management System which is Shopify, comes in at just 3.2 percent of websites. That’s a very distant second place.
Shopify is focused on ecommerce and they charge a fee to use their software but it shows just how popular the WordPress CMS is. WordPress also powers more ecommerce stores than Shopify so it’s more than just a blogging content management system.
Most Popular CMS Software in 2021
I remember when I first started blogging everybody seemed to be using Blogger. Now I can’t recall the last time I stumbled on a blog using the Blogger CMS. Here’s a list of the top ten Content Management Systems used in 2021. Have a look where Blogger is now (8th with just 1 percent).
- WordPress – 39.6%
- Shopify – 3.2%
- Joomla – 2.2%
- Drupal – 1.5%
- Wix – 1.5%
- Squarespace – 1.5%
- Bitrix – 1.0%
- Blogger – 1.0%
- Magento – 0.7%
- OpenCart – 0.6%
Wholesalers Network Going Forward
Getting back to the WN website update. We’ll be keeping things similar to what they are now with plenty of wholesalers and dropshippers listed by products and country as that’s what has made us popular with business owners. But we also plan to spend more time publishing articles, guides and information on starting a business and how to run a business.
We may even look to get some experts in their field of business to answer questions or share their knowledge with a guest post, so if you are an expert and you think you would be a good fit with Wholesalers Network then give us a call.
For now though, we’ll be getting the wholesale listings right, updating the companies, and searching for new resources to share. Oh and it’ll be the same price as before: Free!

I like the new website design but the products I am interested in are still using the old design. I sell clothes and sporting goods online.

Thank you for the feedback Jayce.
We’re working on the clothing wholesalers now and it should be live within the next week. Sports products might also be updated this week.
I hope you still found the right supplier on the old pages.
Have a great week
